Watch the Leaves Change From Brant’s Apple Orchard

Brant’s Apple Orchard opened out of the back of an old shed nearly 30 years ago. It has since grown into a bakery, farmers market, cider mill, and one of Ashtabula County’s favorite fall attractions. The orchard typically opens mid-August and closes for the season on Thanksgiving. Brant’s prides themselves on the people and the process that join together to make it a success.

Roam the Orchard

There’s plenty to keep you busy at Brant’s, but while you explore the great outdoors, remember to take a moment to breathe in the brisk autumn air. Here’s a list of what you’ll see at the orchard.

  • Well, apples.
    • Brant’s expansive property offers 23 unique varieties of apple trees — yours for the picking. Stroll through the pristinely carved rows and sample the fruit to find your favorite variety to bring home. Create your very own family applesauce recipe, throw them in a pie, or just slice them up with some sugar sprinkled on top for a quick snack. Brant’s also offers Asian pears and table grapes at their farmhouse stand.

  • Brant’s Bakery
    • At 70 cents each, Brant’s apple cider doughnuts are a treat you’ll want to indulge in. They are served hot and fresh daily, so grab a bag on your way to work to spoil your co-workers or take a dozen home for a delightful midnight snack. The bakery also offers a variety of pastries and pies. The menu changes daily (based on the taste of the chef that day), so the best way to keep up with their newest creations is by following Brant’s on Facebook
      • Baker’s Tip: Keep the doughnuts’ paper bag closed until you’re ready to enjoy in order to maintain their moisture!

  • Haywagon Rides
    • Tractor-drawn hayrides are some of the most popular attractions at Brant’s Apple Orchard. Rides are offered Saturdays and Sundays during the season and travel through the vineyards, orchards, and pear-lined paths. An educated employee leads the hayride with a narrated tour of the property and its history.

  • The Pond and Playground
    • Brant’s reflecting pond is the perfect spot to enjoy an apple cider doughnut or a soup and sandwich from the cafe. Kids love tossing in bits of their pastries and watching the bluegill follow them along the shore. The covered bridge playground and hay pit are sure to shake all of the sillies out of them before heading home.
